There are different card combinations that judge the winner of each round. You need to know these combinations for you to know which card to use to win the game. You have to pick the highest combination as possible. One pair, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush, and a royal flush is the ascending order of the card combinations. Obviously, if you only have a two pairs and your opponent has straight cards, then automatically your opponent is the winner.

Examples of straight cards are five cards in different suit but in numerical sequence such as cards from 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Five cards with same suit but are not having numerical numbers in sequence is called flush. Full house on the other hand is a combination of three of a kind and one pair of any number. You call it straight flush when the five cards are in numerical sequence and all are under the same suit. Lastly, the royal flush consists of five cards from 10, jack, queen, king and ace under the same suit.

Playing poker is never easy and players raise according to their cards and to their strategies. You need to know when to raise a bet that could be beneficial for you. Develop your skills in poker by studying different poker books and play online to further enhance your strategies.
